Truck hits hut, kills father and two sons in Hyderabad
Lorry driver lost control as brakes failed.
Hyderabad: Three persons including a father and two sons sleeping in a hut by the roadside were killed in an accident and two others were injured, when a speeding truck ran amok in Madinaguda in the wee hours of Monday. The truck driver lost control and rammed into the huts. The deceased are Srinivas, his father Krishna and Adinarayana, all from East Godavari district.
Police said Krishna, 60, and his two sons Srinivas and Suresh and their close relative Adinarayana came to the city nearly 10 days ago and had settled at Madinaguda. They were selling flower plants and pots and had set up a hut by the roadside and were staying in it. On Monday, at around 4 am, a speeding truck coming from Allwyn X Roads, rammed into the hut.
“The truck ran over four persons who were asleep, went a few meters ahead and sank in the mud outside the hut,” Miyapur inspector K. Ramesh said. Srinivas Rao, who was sleeping in the next hut heard the noise, woke up and informed the police
Srinivas and Adinarayana were killed on the spot and Krishna succumbed after a couple of hours. Suresh who also suffered serious injuries is recovering and is out of danger. Police detained truck driver Sheikh Pasha for questioning and he confessed that the brakes had failed.
A case for causing death through negligence and inflicting injuries was registered and the bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
