Warangal: Historians in Warangal have dug up evidence of the reign of the Satavahana dynasty here, which had remained unexplored by the archaeology department in the district. Local historian Reddy Ratnakar Reddy who led the expedition with other history researchers at Geesugonda said there are many areas where remains belonging to the Satavahana times can be found but did not come to light. Geesugonda is 17 km from Warangal. Among the found at the site were pottery, stone carvings and broken pieces of statues.
