Bengaluru: Eight IPS officers transferred

Bengaluru: In a major reshuffle, the state government has transferred eight IPS officers on Wednesday. S Murugan has been transferred and posted as IGP, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru. Murugan was IGP of the North Eastern Range Kalaburagi.
He has been posted in the upgraded vacant post by keeping the cadre post of DIG, Karnataka Lokayukta, in abeyance. He has been replaced by Manish Kharbikar, who was IGP (Railways).
IGP of Eastern Range K.V. Sharath Chandra has been transferred and posted as IGP, Southern Range, Mysuru. Soumendu Mukherjee, who was IGP of Southern Range, Mysuru is transferred to the Internal Security Division (ISD). H.S. Revanna, DIG, Prisons, is posted as DIG, Police Fire Services in the existing vacancy.
Similarly, Dr Chandragupta, who was DCP, Central Division in Bengaluru, has been transferred as DCP, Traffic West Division, Bengaluru in the existing vacancy.
He has been replaced by D. Devaraja, who was SP of Bidar District. T Sreedhara, who was in ACB, Bengaluru, it transferred as SP, Bidar.
Meanwhile, Additional Drector General of Police of the Forest Cell Dr Alikana S. Murthy has been given the additional charge of the post of ADGP, State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), Bengaluru, in the upgraded vacant post by keeping the post of IGP, SHRC in abeyance.
Similarly, M. Chandra Sekhar, IGP ACB has been given additional charge as IGP, Special Investigation Team (SIT), Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru.
