PM Modi to lay foundation stone for Amrit Bharat railway stations on Aug 6
HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Amrit Bharat railway stations on August 6. Under the scheme, railway stations, many of them in Telangana, would be upgraded and provided modern facilities, at a cost of Rs 894 crore.
With regard to Telangana, the Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone for the modernisation of the Secunderabad railway station at a cost of Rs 715 crore and Cherlapally station which is being developed at a cost of Rs 221 crore.
The scheme will cover stations between Rs 20 crore and Rs 500 crore annually, those with tourist and pilgrimage importance and stations with local significance. The stations will be rebuilt, and integrated with the cities from both sides, and passengers be provided with better transit, food and sanitation facilities.
