Retired prof killed in Salem accident

Prof Jim, retired from the college in this March and was coming back after visiting his son who was working in Bangalore.

Kottayam: Prof Jim Jacob Karikkumpallil, 58. a retired professor of the department of Commerce at St Aloysius College, Edathua,  died in the accident at Mamangam near Salem in Tamil Nadu on Saturday  early morning after the private bus he was travelling collided with another bus. Five other Malayalis also were killed in the accident.

Prof Jim, retired from the college in this March and was coming back after visiting his son who was working in Bangalore.

His wife and younger son were also with him while the accident took place. The two were only slightly injured, according to sources.

Prof Jim was residing at Changanachery for many years after buying a house there though his ancestral house is at Edathua.
