TTV Dhinakaran skeptical of CM’s foreign tour outcome
Chief Minister Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami’s three-nation tour to attract more direct foreign investments.
Tiruchy: Independent MLA and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader Mr TTV Dhinakaran expressed skepticism about the outcome of the Chief Minister Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami’s three-nation tour to attract more direct foreign investments to TN, asking how it would be possible when the entire world economy was experiencing a slowdown.
Critical of the Chief Minister’s current tour abroad, Dhinakaran in an informal chat with reporters at Thiruvanaikovil near here on Sunday, said the foreign visits by Mr. Palaniswami and his cabinet colleagues was akin to the housewife’s saying in Tamil, “En Veetukararum Kutcherikku Poraar (My husband too goes for giving concerts)’.
The dissident leader, who claims to be the real AIADMK, also expressed happiness at the appointment of Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, state BJP leader, as the next Governor of Telangana state. It was a ‘great honour’ that Dr Tamilisai hailing from Tamil Nadu has been appointed to that post, he said.
Asked about the former AMMK propaganda secretary Mr. Thanga Tamizhselvan now becoming the DMK’s propaganda secretary, Mr. Dhinakaran said it was ‘okay’ as long as the former knew his limits.
