Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the Registry to tag a petition of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking an investigation by an independent agency not functioning under the control of AP government and its DGP into the attack on him, with a PIL pending before the Chief Justice and post the case before the bench headed by Chief Justice to Tuesday for hearing.

When Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s plea came up before Justice A.V. Sesha Sai, AP Advocate-General Dammalapati Srinivas submitted that a PIL with a similar prayer was pending before the division bench of the Chief Justice.

Counsel appearing for Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the court hear their plea as the averments of the PIL were different. When the AG said both petitions were similar, the judge perused the PIL and said that both were more or less similar. He then directed the Registry to post the case before the CJ’s bench.
