Hyderabad: Software glitch halts Inter fee
Last date of payment extended for 2nd time.
Hyderabad: Despite several complaints, Intermediate students are still facing problems with the examination fee payment software. The last date has been extended for a second time.
A student said the system was not displaying the fee paid after confirmation. Besides, the names of some students were also not in the fee payment list.
A college principal from Sangareddy stated the fee amount of Rs 1,20,980 was deducted twice from the college account for 263 first year students. The college still has to pay Rs 2,03,140 for 298 second year students but it can do so only when the extra payment is reverted to its account.
Ms Manjula, Principal, Government Junior College, Jangaon, reported another problem. She said the bridge course fee challan window was not opening.
“The transaction of Rs 27,120 has not been received by the Intermediate Board though I paid it on October 23 and received a debit statement of the transaction.”
Mr K. Krishna Kumar, general secretary, Government Junior College Principals Association, said that previously the details of the students was reflected in the examination fee payment portal. “We could check the names of students who have paid the fee. This option is not working properly now. Sometimes it shows 60 students have paid and sometimes 100 students. This is creating a lot of confusion.”
He said out of 1,100 students in his college, 769 had paid the fee but he was unable see it on the portal. “In a Warangal Junior College, the principal paid the fee for 188 students but the system is showing the details of 118.”
After receiving several complaints from the students and junior colleges, the Board of Intermediate Education has instructed all the district education officers and nodal officers to contact the deputy secretary (exams) for any issues regarding payment of exam fee.
Asked about the problem, an Intermediate Board officer said, “Due to issues raised by the colleges and students, we have extended last date of online fee payment without late fee up to November 6. So far 92 per cent students have paid the fee.”
