Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu felt that there was a communication gap between the old and new generation leaders of the TD, which led to the discouraging response to the Jana Chaitanya Yatras (JCY), being held.

The Chief Minister also reportedly expressed unhappiness over the poor performance of some ministers, MLAs and leaders in JCYs. He has mentioned the names of Prathipati Pulla Rao and Gadde Rammohan Rao for making the JCYs a grand success by conducting the events, and asked the rest of the ministers and MLAs as to why they didn’t make the JCY a success.

In fact, the agenda of the Cabinet has a mention about the recent survey carried out by party’s own intelligence wing on ministers and ruling party MLAs’ performance, quoting the CM that it was the only relief for party in the recent past.

The Chief Minister has reportedly told the ministers that majority of them should catch up the speed and frequency set by him in executing the people-friendly policies. “I found very few like Prathipati Pulla Rao and MLA Gadde Rammohan who have successfully taken the government’s welfare schemes to the people, during Jana Chaitanya Yatras (JCYs),” the Chief Minister observed and questioned some ministers as to why they kept themselves away from the JCYs.

Speaking on the coming local bodies elections, the Chief Minister said that he would soon form a group of ministers (GoM) under the leadership of minister P. Narayana. “The GoM is expected to work meticulously in taking the welfare schemes aimed at reaching the urban poor, lower middle class and BPL sections living in the targeted areas, to win all the municipalities and Corporations,” the Chief Minister said.
