Hyderabad: Red chilly farmers held a protest in Malakpet market opposing online trading system implemented two months back. Farmers from Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Warangal demanded support price for their crop as they were not getting proper rate.
B.Bixamaiah from Nalgonda said that their crop was being sold at Malakpet market at Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per quintal. “But, the same crop is getting Rs12,000 to Rs15,000 in other markets where the online trading system is not implemented,” he said. Marketing officials said that there was a problem in central server which led to confusion among farmers.
