Demonetisation effect! Special yajna to keep bad elements away from Modi
'Manyusukta Punascharana appeases Lord Narasimha. Post demonetization, Modi has earned many enemies and opponents due to his daring step.'
Mangaluru: With his political rivals sharpening their attack on the Prime Minister after he announced demonetization, BJP workers and well-wishers of Narendra Mod in the coastal districts have started seeking divine support to strengthen his position and keep away bad elements.
The Manyu Sookta Punascharana Homa, held at Vamanjur near Mangaluru last week and Navachandi Mahayaga at Kollur on Sunday were the two major events held to make Mr Modi stronger and face up to his opponents. Manyu Sookta dedicated to Manyu, is from Rig Veda and contains 14 verses. Manyu denotes temper, anger or passion.
“Manyusukta Punascharana appeases Lord Narasimha. Post demonetization, Modi has earned many enemies and opponents due to his daring step. So Manyusukta Punascharana homa was offered to ensure that his opponents do not harm Modi and hamper the developmental works initiated by him,” VHP leader and president of the committee that offered the Yaga, Jagadish Shenava told DC.
He said that the same Yaga was offered when the government wanted to take over the administration of Udupi Krishna Math a few years ago. The belief goes that after offering this Yaga, the government stopped the move.
On Sunday hundreds of devotees participated in the padayatra and later in the Navachandi Mahayaga at Kollur Mookambika Temple on January 1. “On November 15, a week after Modi declared demonetization; I had a feeling that his success and achievements could attract bad ‘dristi,’ (negative energy). I decided to organise Navachandi Mahayaga to Goddess Mookambika to keep away bad ‘dristi,’ and also ensure success for the PM,” a former managing trustee of the temple says.
He added that they also prayed for the well being of former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. “People offer prayers here seeking divine support of the Goddess. Even Jayalalithaa (former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister) had come here to get her problems solved,” he added.
