Visakhapatnam: Major boost to small enterprises
DIPC to acquire land for MSME parks in each constituency.
Visakhapatnam: As a major boost to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the District Industrial Promotion Committee (DIPC) is in the process of acquiring land to set up at least one dedicated MSME Park in each constituency of the district. It has already identified some government lands in the rural areas.
“The committee has found some government lands in Gajuwaka, Bheemili, Parawada and other areas. It has sought the co-operation of the local MLAs to acquire the land in each constituency to set up the MSMEs. Land acquisition in urban areas is a challenge, and currently we are on that job,” said District Industries Centre general manager A. Ramalingeswara Rao.
A new policy on the MSMEs would be released soon to set up a dedicated MSME Park in each constituency with an approximate extent of half to one-acre land. Depending on the number and necessity of the occupied MSMEs, the common infrastructure will be developed in the park. Earlier, there was no role of MLAs in the MSME policy as AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) was the nodal agency to acquire land for the establishment of industrial parks in the state. However, it is the responsibility of the DIPC now to obtain land for the MSMEs with the help of local MLAs in all the constituencies.
With the co-ordination of the MLAs, the DIPC will also organise MSME intensive campaigns post Janmabhoomi programme till January end at all their constituencies. During the campaigns, it will identify around 100 entrepreneurs from the district who are interested in the MSME sector. They will take part in the state-level MSME meet to be held at Tirupati in the first week of February. Under the Zero defect-zero effect (ZED) Scheme, the registered MSMEs will be offered loans up to '10 crore from the banks and AP State Financial Corporation. The committee will issue the required licenses, including 12 pre-establishment clearances and 11 post-establishment approvals, through single window desk within 21 days, he informed.
