Tamil Nadu Assembly session to conclude on January 8

Chennai: The brief session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, which commenced on Wednesday, the first for this year, will conclude on January 8.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit delivered his address to the sixth session of the fifteenth Legislative Assembly and the first for this year here on Wednesday. The Tamil version of his speech in English was read out by Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal.

Following this, the Business Advisory Committee met with Mr. Dhanapal in the chair and decided that this session will go on till January  8.

After making obituary references on Thursday, the members will speak on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address to the Assembly House for three days on January  4, 5 and 7, while January 6 being Sunday is a holiday. On the concluding day, the first supplementary estimates for 2018 - 19 fiscal will be presented.
