Telangana: Civic bodies to opt for solar
The principal secretary has also instructed the officials to identify at least two junctions in each municipality for beautification.
Hyderabad: To save the power charges TS government has decided to set up solar roof top system for all municipalities and municipal corporations in the state.
The state government also directed director, municipal administration, to set up roof top solar system at their office at Hyderabad.
Municipal administration and urban development department principal secretary Arvind Kumar has taken this decision during his meeting with department officials.
In fact, the Centre has directed all state governments to set up roof-top solar energy system in all government offices.
The principal secretary has also instructed the officials to identify at least two junctions in each municipality for beautification.
The state government recently has taken a decision to take up at least one project in every municipality which will have visual impact. As a part of this in each municipality two junctions will be taken up for beautification.
He also instructed all the four municipal corporations and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation shall identify one stretch for forming road, footpaths with utility ducts which will improve the aesthetic of the urban local body.
Municipal corporations had got Rs 100 crore grant, while Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation got Rs 300 crore.
