Guntur youth arrested in Sharmila case

Hyderabad: The cyber crime team of Central Crime Station (CCS) on Saturday arrested a 21-year-old student in connection with a complaint lodged by YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila against those trying to defame her by spreading rumours on social media.
Additional DCP K.C.S Raghuvir said that the arrested person, Venkateshwar Rao, was a student of a private college in Guntur and was studying MCA there.
“The man is a native of Prakasam district and was staying away from his parents for continuing his higher studies. While residing at the college hostel, he got involved into various online activities and based on specific intelligence, we have arrested him under section 67A of IT Act,” he said.
