Hyderabad: Following inputs by intelligence agencies about the possibility of terrorist attacks, the use of para gliders, remote controlled drones, microlight aircraft etc., prohibitory orders were issued by the Hyderabad police commissioner.
The official said that there has been an increase in event organisers using remote controlled drones for getting aerial views or live telecasts and photography.
“It is necessary that reasonable checks are imposed on activities of such antisocial elements in Hyderabad limits, to prevent attacks through remote controlled drones or through para-gliders or remotely controlled microlight aircraft. No NGO or individual will be allowed to launch Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Unmanned Aerial Survey (UAS) etc. Government agencies and organisations should obtain appropriate clearance from the local police and aviation authorities before launching any UAS/UAV,” he said.
He added that any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the IPC, 1860.
