Nellore: Congress to take out Praja Yatra

Nellore: DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah on Saturday announced that the Congress is going to organise 'Pratyeka Hoda Bharosa Praja Yatra' programme from February 15, covering every corner of the state.

Interacting with media persons at the Indira Bhavan in Nellore on Saturday, Mr Krishnaiah said that the yatra will commence from Hindupur and will conclude at Srikakulam, viz., Naidupeta, Sulurupet, Venkatagiri, Gudur, Venkatachalam, Sarvepalli, Nellore rural, Nellore city, Buchireddy Palem and Kovvuru constituencies in Nellore.

"The Central government led by BJP has betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh without any allocations to the state. It had spoiled the lives of farmers for the last four-and-a-half-years, and came forward with a Budget, that they claimed as farmer's budget which is nothing but an election gimmick," he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Krishnaiah informed the cadre that the party was going to invite applications from February 5 to 10, in which the interested aspirants can contest at their respective constituencies by paying an application fee of Rs 5,000 for Assembly constituency and Rs 10,000 for Lok Sabha constituency. He maintained that they would receive applications from the aspirants and in turn it will be forwarded to the PCC. "In case if DCC receives more number of applications for a single constituency, the aspirants would be given a mandal to prove their capacity to attract voters through campaigning and then, the PCC would finalise the list of candidates," he said.
