Hyderabad: The AP government has put down six points for validation of the selection of beneficiaries under the NTR Rural Housing Scheme.

For example, a person is not eligible for the scheme:  if the monthly power bill crosses Rs 500; if he or she has a car; or has not availed of essential commodities from fair price shops of the Civil Supplies department for three months in a row.

The state government sanctioned 2 lakh houses for the rural poor in the current financial year. But till date, only about 70,000 beneficiaries have been selected, who will face further scrutiny under the six-point validation requirement fixed by the government.

The government issued an internal circular to all district collectors, informing them about this stricture, and asked them to submit the final list of beneficiaries by the end of February 2016.
