Bengaluru: Auto driver dies in accident
Police has identified the deceased as Harish Babu.
Bengaluru: A 32-year-old man died on the spot while another sustained critical injuries after a speeding car allegedly rear ended an auto-rickshaw, rammed into a stationary two-wheeler and came to halt after dashing into a compound wall. Police has identified the deceased as Harish Babu, an auto rickshaw driver and a resident of Thagachiguppe, while the identity of the injured car driver is yet to be ascertained as he fled the spot.
The accident took place at around 10.30 am on Mysuru Road. Due to the collision, the auto-rickshaw toppled and Harish died on the spot after sustaining serious head injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the car had reportedly sustained serious injuries, but escaped from the scene. After the police was informed they reached the spot and rushed Babu to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. “We suspect that the car was reportedly being driven by a student. We have seized the car and the details of the owner are being gathered,” said a senior police officer.
