Karnataka High Court dismisses Adi plea
The petition was dismissed on the ground that it was not maintainable.
Bengaluru: The High Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by Upalokayukta Justice Subhash B. Adi, who had challenged the legality of the motion adopted against him by the Assembly for his ouster. The petition was dismissed on the ground that it was not maintainable after the state government submitted to the court that the motion to remove the Upa Lokayukta has been ‘admitted’ and that the Speaker and has referred the matter to the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court for further proceedings.
Meanwhile Advocate General Madhusudan R. Naik apologised stating that 'unauthenticated copy' of the transcripts of the proceedings of the house was submitted to the court previously. However, senior advocate B.V. Acharya appearing for Justice Adi questioned the conduct of the state government over the ‘tampered’ version of the transcripts that were submitted to the court.

A single judge bench of the High Court on Wednesday ordered directing the petition filed over a controversial wrist-watch of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seeking directions to Enforcement Directorate to conduct an inquiry into the watch issue, be listed before division bench (bench comprising of two judges).
The petitioner, Nataraj Sharma, in his plea before the Enforcement Directorate has sought for a probe on who gifted Mr Siddaramaiah the expensive wrist-watch; under what circumstances the watch was gifted to the CM; did the presenter accrue any benefit or was it gifted as a kickback.
Kambala: Conditional nod
The High Court has passed an order allowing hold Kambala-Tulunadu’s traditional buffalo race as per the notification issued by the state government on December 17, 2015, which allowed Kambala event to take place with conditions. The court on Wednesday made it clear that the Kambala event organisers will have to strictly follow the conditions laid down with regard to the preventive measures while holding the event.
