Nellore: Garlands of Andal taken in procession
Citizens throng Tirupati to witness the celestial journey of the sacred two garlands.
Nellore: On the auspicious occasion of Garuda Vahana Seva on Wednesday evening in Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram, the procession of twin sacred garlands of Andal Sri Goda-devi and Lakshmi Kasula Haram took place in Tirupati.
The citizens of Tirupati witnessed the celestial procession of the garlands in the morning and evening on Wednesday and were enthralled at the very sight of the sacred garlands.
In the morning at around 7am, the Andal Garlands reached the temple from Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in a procession and they were later decorated to the presiding deity.
While in the evening at 4:30 pm the famous golden Lakshmi Kasula Haram which was brought from Tirumala exclusively for the event was taken to the temple from TTD administrative building in Tirupati.
This precious jewel was adorned to utsava murthy of Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy during Garuda Seva in the evening.
On the auspicious occasion of Garuda Seva of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Sw-amy of Srinivasa Manga-puram on Wednesday, a new set of Golden Shoulder and feet ornaments have been presented to the deity from the jewel treasure of Tirumala.
Theses ornaments will be decorated to the presiding deity of Srinivasa Mangapuram.
Meanwhile this practice of gifting new jewels to sub temples from Tirumala started about four years ago, with an aim to give grandeur look to the main deities of sub-shrines also.
