Hyderabad: The GHMC has been unable to complete construction of bus shelters and bus bays within the 100-day action plan. Not a single bus shelter has been constructed in the busy IT corridor since the GHMC elections.

More than 500 buses pass through the IT corridor every day and thousands of commuters use RTC buses on this route. Key bus stops at Kondapur junction, Kothaguda, Anjaiah Nagar, Gachibowli, Hafeezpet, Miyapur and Raidurgam have no shelters.

T Krishnam Raju, a regular commuter from Kondapur, says commuters take shelter from the hot sun in nearby hotels and shops in summer and during the rainy season.

He says there is a heavy rush of commuters during peak hours at Kondapur Chowrasta and Anjaiah Nagar and Gachibowli. But except for the stretch from Kothaguda junction to Cyber Towers junction, there is no bus shelter in the IT corridor.
