Vijayawada: The YSRC on Thursday said that as per protocol, a collector is answerable to any Cabinet minister and its chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy enjoys the Cabinet rank status in his capacity of the Leader of the Opposition.

YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said “When the collector has been trying to get rid of evidence by sending the body without conducting autopsy, the Leader of Opposition questioned it which in our opinion is the right thing as it set right the anomaly.” Reiterating that the Chandrababu Naidu government has been trying to shield culprits and has been foisting false cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy .

Speaking to media on Thursday Mr Ambati said that on many earlier such occasions, Mr Reddy had visited the accident sites and extended moral support to the kin of the victims and injured, but there were no cases or such high drama. This time around things took an ugly turn as the owner of the Travel Agency happens to be a TD MP who has been very active in criticising the Leader of Opposition.

“The district collector was in a hurry to get rid of the dead body, but for the questioning of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They tried to tamper with the evidence by packing the body of the driver without autopsy as the facts would come out,” Mr Rambabu said.
