Bengaluru: Techie falls from 9th floor apt, dies

Bengaluru: A 28-year-old techie fell to his death from the ninth floor of an apartment at Bellandur on Thursday night. The police suspect that he might have fallen accidentally as he was drunk.
The deceased, Goutham Kumar, was from Patna and an employee of a software company in Kadubeesanahalli.
Goutham and his friends had recently purchased a flat on the ninth floor of the Shobha Daisy Apartment and were partying on Thursday night.
Goutham received a call from his family around 11 pm. As the music was loud inside the flat, he stepped out to attend the call. While talking, police suspect, Goutham lost his balance and fell as he was drunk. The police were informed about the incident by a security guard, who rushed to the spot after hearing a loud thud and found Goutham lying in a pool of blood. Goutham’s friends who were partying inside the flat stepped out to check on him when he did not return for over 15 minutes. When they did not find him outside, they called him on his mobile phone, but did not get any response. When they looked down, they found a large number people gathering around a body, which they later realised was Goutham’s.
The Bellandur police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem. The police have begun the investigation and have not ruled out murder and suicide.
