Warangal: Even five years after the formation of the new state, the TRS government has failed to get the promises made under the AP Reorganisation Bill — 2014 fulfilled, said the Telugu Desam state organising secretary, Gattu Prasad Babu.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Mr Prasad Babu challenged the TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao to stage a protest in Delhi demanding that the Centre fulfil the promises made under AP Reorganisation Bill.

“The TRS leadership is working hand-in-glove with the BJP. The TRS leadership has remained silent about implementation the promises including the setting up of a railway coach factory at Kazipet, AIIMS, integrated steel factory in Khammam, mining university in Kothagudem among others. It is surprising how the TRS government has made any effort to pressurise the Centre to fulfil these promises,” Prasad Babu said.

On the other hand, the AP government has succeeded in getting a railway zone in Visakhapatnam besides getting national status for Polavaram project, Mr Prasad Babu added.

Mr Prasad Babu took pot shots at Errabelli Dayakar Rao who claimed credit for fighting against Maharashtra for Babli waters and dared him to come forward to stage a protest in Delhi along with opposition leaders.

Mr Prasad Babu threatened that the TD has plans to stage a protest before the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi if the TRS leadership fails to prevail over the Centre in regard to the Reorganisation Act promises. Warangal district (combined) SC Cell president Hanmakonda Sambaiah, senior leaders Margam Sarangam, Bairapaka Prabhakar, Kagithal Jayashankar, Gollapally Eshwara Chary, among others were present.
