Kudankulam unit-1 nets Rs 3,000 crore in revenue

Thoothukudi: The first unit of the Kudankulam nuclear power project (KKNPP) in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district achieved a cumulative generation of 772 crore units since it was comissioned three years ago, said the KKNPP site director R S Sundar.
Speaking to the media at a college convocation function in Thoothukudi on Saturday, Sundar added that the 1,000 mwe first reactor under operation at KKNPP generated revenue of Rs 3,000 crore by sales of power generated since the first unit was commissioned and synchronised with the southern power grid on October 2013.
