Pulleppady District Homeo Hospital to get revival
Rs 1.52 crore from development fund of MLA to be used for new building.
KOCHI: Pulleppady District Homeo Hospital in the heart of the city is to be revived using Rs 1.52 crore from the asset development fund of Hibi Eden, MLA, and the State Government has now accorded administrative sanction for the project. The amount will be used for constructing a new building for the 40-year-old hospital. The new building will mainly house its in-patient wing. When attempts were earlier made to shift the hospital to Kakkanad, Hibi Eden had granted Rs 50 lakh from his asset development fund, using which the OP wing of the hospital was developed and a pharmacy was established.
A lot of patients are now using these facilities and are getting the service of the doctors. Currently the in-patient wing is in a dilapidated condition and the aid from the MLA has come at the right time. The new building will accommodate 25 beds and will have separate wards for males and females. There will be a modern clinical laboratory, ECG room, yoga hall, kitchen, ramp for the differently-abled, dressing room, dining room, store room, visitors' section and toilets.
The MLA said that since the administrative sanction for the project has come from the government, the tender proceedings will be started soon. PWD Buildings section will undertake the work. He also said that once the construction of this building is over, the hospital will become the biggest homeo hospital in the state.
