Telangana schools' body calls for rally
All the association members, teachers and parents will observe a black day on this date.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) has called for a mass demonstration and rally in the name of Shiksha Bachao Abhiyan at Ramleela Maidan, Delhi on April 7, 2018. All the association members, teachers and parents will observe a black day on this date.
Members of TRSMA alleged that 65 percent of students in the state study in budget private schools which offer quality education at a low cost, but instead of supporting these schools the government is bringing new rules and regulations such as NOCs, fire, traffic, etc., which are practically not possible to be satisfied by the schools.
For every accidental incident that takes place, the school management, principal and teachers are held responsible and criminal cases are being booked against them, alleged the members. There is no safety, security and dignity granted to them.
S. Sreenivas Reddy, president, TRSMA, said, “Around 950 schools in Telangana State were closed down during 2016-2017. If this continues, in the next next five years most of the budget schools will shut down and children will be the ultimate sufferers. Our public education system has irretrievably broken down and it is not producing the desired results.”
