GHMC removes 22,758 hoardings
The civic body has also removed 8,477 posters, banners, and wall writings erected on private buildings.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has taken down 22,758 hoardings, flexes, banners, and wall writings ever since the Model Code of Conduct came into effect. This apart, the corporation has sealed 51 shops and 2,912 liters of liquor.
According to district election officer and GHMC commissioner M. Dana Kishore, the enforcement and disaster management wing and sanitation workers have removed 4,964 posters and 4,145 banners on government offices and buildings, and 4,465 unclaimed campaign material and 737 wall writings in the city limits.
The civic body has also removed 8,477 posters, banners, and wall writings erected on private buildings.
Mr Dana Kishore added that webcasting and video facilities were being arranged at all the polling stations in Hyderabad to ensure transparency and smooth conduct during polling. 20,000 Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers have already been trained regarding the polling process.
Mr Dana Kishore had also instructed the officials to construct ramps at polling stations before 2nd April for the convenience of voters.
