Only BJP can protect nation, says Rajnath Singh

Nizamabad/Warangal: Union home minister and BJP Manifesto committee chairman Rajnath Singh made a pitch for his party and Prime Minister Modi, saying, “Only the Bharatiya Janata Party can protect national interest.”   While this was his reasoning at a public meeting in Nizamabad, speaking at a Mahbubabad meeting, he elaborated on the theme saying that the BJP had done a lot for strengthening the forces guarding our borders.

In Nizamabad, he was indulgent to voters giving a thumbs up to the TRS in the recent Assembly elections, but he said the TRS would not be able to perform on the national stage and hence the people of Telangana state should back the BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.

In the Mahbubabad meeting which he addressed in support of candidate Jatoth Hussain Naik, he lambasted the Congress not only for the Rafale allegations which he dubbed “baseless” but even said, “When the Taj hotel in Mumbai was under attack in 2008, the army tackled the situation and overpowered the terrorists. However, the government did nothing to warn Pakistan. They did not even have the guts to take any action. When today’s BJP government is taking steps to counter the terrorist activities of Pakistan, Congress is just politicising the issue.”

He claimed that when India played a major role in liberating Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971, even the BJP, which was in the opposition had appreciated Indira Gandhi’s “bold decisions.”  “Why can’t the Congress do the same now when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking bold steps to counter Pakistan terrorists?” he asked.

The BJP would change the face of India in economy, external affairs and other key issues, he said after he flew to Nizamabad and addressed a public meeting at Government polytechnic grounds.

BJP MP Lok Sabha candidates for Nizamabad and Zaheerabad parliament constituencies Dharmapuri Arvind and Banala Laxma Reddy respectively, BJP state president K.Laxman, former BJP MLA E.Laxminarayana and others were present.

Mr Singh was critical that under the TRS government rule, corruption was high in the newly formed state.  “People of Telangana are unable to get Central government schemes as TRS government is preventing its implementation,” he said.

Mr Singh claimed that India had transformed from weaker nation status to powerful nation. “We will replace one of the top three countries-US, Russia and China soon” he said. Anti- satellite mission shows strength of India in space technology, he added.

Mr Rajnath Singh also assured that Nizam Sugar factory would be reopened and a turmeric board set up if BJP candidate Dharmapuri Arvind was elected as MP.

At the Mahbubabad meeting, Mr Rajnath Singh said that the BJP government was taking “revolutionary decisions” every since it has come to power in 2014. Starting from providing good road facilities to strengthening our army, the Narendra Modi government has changed the face of the nation considerably in the past five years, he said.

He said the country had become the fourth space power in the world only after ISRO and the DRDA scientists built the anti-satellite missiles. This was built only during the regime of the BJP for the self-defence and to protect our satellites from enemy attacks.

Mr Singh also promised that the BJP government would work toward providing ownership of lands to the local tribals and asked the people to vote for the BJP for change.
