Hyderabad: Seven women, including five from Uzbekistan, who were forced into flesh trade in Hyderabad were rescued, and five persons were taken into custody by the SR Nagar police late on Monday night.

Punjagutta ACP M. Thirupathanna said, “Following up on a tip, the SR Nagar police station teams rushed to Aditya Park Hotel in Ameerpet where two women were confined in a room and prostitution was being undertaken. These women were rescued and the manager of the hotel was taken into custody.”

“Based on statements from the rescued victims, raids were conducted at the Polo Lodge located under the Punjagutta police station limits and five women were rescued from its hotel rooms. Four persons, who were engaged by the pimps as customers, were also detained and taken to the police station for further questioning,” he said.

“Prima facie, it is found that the women five hailing from Uzbekistan, one from Madhya Pradesh and one from West Bengal were lured and forced into flesh trade by the accused persons, who have been identified as Rahul and Surya. The duo is currently absconding, but we’ve got some clues, like their mobile phone numbers, based on which they will be traced and arrested,” said the ACP.

He added that the victims are being sent to a rescue home for rehabilitation and care. Responding to a query, ACP Thirupathanna said, “Notices will be served to the managers of the hotels in connection with the case. Further action will be initiated after aprehending organisers of the brothel.”
