Bengaluru: Abducted girl found abandoned in a dargah
The police suspect the involvement of a woman in the kidnap.
Bengaluru: A two-and-half-year-old girl who was abducted by an unidentified boy from Someshwaranagar on Saturday was found abandoned in a dargah (shrine) in Madivala on Monday.
The Dargah staff who found the lone girl, Khatija, crying, informed the Madivala police at around 5.30 pm on Monday. The police visited the Dargah and took the child into their custody and informed the police control room.
When it was found that the girl was kidnapped from Siddapura police station limits on Saturday, she was handed over to her parents with the help of Siddapura police on Monday night.
Khatija was abducted by a 15-year-old boy at 1.30 pm on Saturday, while she was playing outside her house. The incident was caught in a CCTV camera, following which a manhunt was started to nab the culprit. A complaint was lodged by her father Imaduddin on Saturday.
A woman also involved?
In a twist to this case, it is now suspected that a burkha-clad woman was also involved.
She had reportedly abandoned Khatija at the Dargah, after she learnt about the wide media coverage of kidnapping. It is suspected that the boy who had abducted the girl and later handed her over to this woman.
Khatija told police that an 'aunty' brought her to the Dargah and further said that she got food, milk and new clothes as well.
However, the police are looking for the boy who abducted her and also the woman who is reportedly involved in this kidnapping.
