Bengaluru Mayor faces people's wrath during campaign
It appears that the voters here had made an analysis of candidates contesting elections and were least interested in picking any candidate.
Bengaluru: It was nothing short of an embarrassment for Congress candidate Sampath Raj, who is currently the city Mayor and is eyeing a berth in the Vidhana Soudha as a legislator.
"Why should we vote for Congress which has hardly done any development works. Our pleas have only fallen on deaf ears. We would rather vote for another party who will actually deliver things for us," said Vinod Kumar, a resident of Benniganahalli in C.V. Raman Nagar on the face of the Mayor.
Broken footpaths, potholed roads, dirty water puddles and filthy garbage is what we have been gifted with for the last five years, he quipped.
The zeal of Sampath Raj was punctured by miffed residents who were looking forward to a better Bengaluru under the reign of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

It is just another tenure and another person coming to power does nothing except for his welfare. The previous legislator hardly showed himself up and did not bother about the problems faced by the residents here. It is better to go for NOTA than to waste any vote, said Manjula, another resident.
