Hyderabad: K T Rama Rao, Globarena in line of attack

Hyderabad: TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy challenged TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao to file a defamation case so that he can prove that the ruling party leader had a hand in awarding the contract for the Intermediate exam software to Globarena Technologies.

He said Mr Rao was involved in the tender being given to Globarena, which a three-member committee had blamed for mistakes in the Intermediate results.

Elsewhere, Mr B. Venkat, president of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), and Telangana Youth Cong-ress president Anil Kumar Yadav, began a 48-hour protest at Gandhi Bhavan to protest against the state government's attitude to the Inter results controversy.

Mr Revanth Reddy asked the government why action had not been taken against Globarena, and alleged that if it is done then the role of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son would come to light.

He demanded that the state government pay `25 lakh ex gratia to the family of each of the students who committed suicide because of the fiasco.

Telangana NSUI president B Venkat said that the the BID officials had not heeded them when they had complained many times about errors in the past. He wanted to know why the Chief Minister had not dismissed the education minister.

Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav asked that When the three-member committee had found fault with Globarena, why was the same company given the work of re-verification of the marks.
