Hyderabad: A Myanmar national who entered the country illegally has managed to obtain an Indian passport with the help of an Aadhaar card with a local address on it. The Cyberabad police, after receiving a tip about the illegal immigrant, have registered a case and are on the job to nab the Myanmar national.
Shaik Eliyas, a native of Myanmar, migrated to the city some time ago. He managed to acquire an identification card and an Aadhar card with a local address and subsequently obtained an Indian passport for himself.
Following up on the tip, the Cyberabad police conducted the relevant inquiries and found that Eliyas was a Myanmar national and that he was residing at a house in Indiranagar, Hassannagar, under the Rajendranagar police station limits.
On Wednesday, the Rajendranagar police registered a case against Eliyas under the relevant sections of the IPC, the Foreigners Act, and the Indian Passport Act, and launched a hunt for him.
Subsequently, a team rushed to the address provided in Eliyas’s passport, but he had fled by then. Efforts are underway to nab him at the earliest and produce him before a court. Further inquiry will be conducted to find how he managed to acquire the Aadhar card and other local identification proof.
