Hyderabad: Nooty Rammohan Rao’s grandchild custody to mother
Concerned over the welfare and psychological well being of the children when their parents separated.
Hyderabad: When two-and-a-half hours of counselling did not have the desired result of reconciling a husband and wife for the sake of their children, the Telangana High Court gave custody of the girl child Risitha, granddaughter of retired judge Justice Nooty Rammohan Rao, to her mother.
Concerned over the welfare and psychological well being of the children when their parents separated, a division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan sat in a special session after the court’s summer vacation had started, to deal with a habeas corpus petition filed by Sindhu Sharma, seeking direction to the Telangana Police to produce her elder daughter Rishita, who, according to the petitioner, was under illegal detention with her husband Mr Vasistha, and his parents, retired judge Nooty Rammohan Rao and his wife Nooty Durga Jailakshmi.
After a long spell of counselling in the judge’s chambers, the court handed over custody of Rishita to her mother and permitted the father to take the children to his house for two days during the weekend.
