A "Paryavarana Mitra" will be appointed for every 'micro pocket' level. The mitras will train the residents of the houses or apartment owners, residents as well as to commercial establishments.

The wet waste will be dumped in a dust bin which will be made suitably for preparing manure from wet waste.

"It takes around 21 days to convert the wet waste into manure which would be bought by the KMC," said the KMC commissioner K. Ramesh.

He said that the manure would be used for horticulture plants and units in the parks and other public places of the city.

According to him, members of a voluntary organisation, "All Is Well" came forward with this plan to create awareness among people.

The commissioner said that all steps were being taken to improve the sanitary conditions in the city. He said the KMC would be taking help of all residential welfare colonies and would consider taking help from volunteers who come forward to help make the programme a success.
