In order to express gratitude to the frontline warriors  involved in in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic across the country, the Indian Air force's MI 17 helicopter have dropped flower petals on Victoria hospital and Command Hospital in the morning.

The helicopter flew atop the command hospital from the Patanjali Gate towards ASC on Old Airport Road.

While the helicopter flew past over the Victoria hospital the health care descended on the ground and cheered for the armed forces thanking their gesture.

Due to the restrictions in the lockdown the band will not be stationary and shall be moving at a slow pace around Victoria hospital. The band has performed at MG road metro station and the Vidhan Soudha.

In the evening INS Vikramaditya will be illuminated in the evening which is at anchorage off Karwar.

However, armed forces veterans have slammed the move saying the armed forces could have been put to better use than the tokenism.

Lt Col (Retd) Rohit Agarwal opined, " The forces can contribute more constructively by mobilising resources to assist in the movement of migrants back to their states instead of this."

Lt Commander (RETD) Gokul said that he was feeling good that he came out of the Indian Navy before 2014.

"Atleast am not in active service today to hear all these nonsense. Crores would have been spent on this while sailors will be sleeping in the cramped bunks.
