Telangana Formation Day: Prayers mark celebrations

Hyderabad: Advocates of TS and AP practising at the Hyderabad High Court and judicial officers and employees of the HC on Thursday celebrated the Telangana Formation Day with gusto.
Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale unfurled the National Flag in the High Court premises. Later the Telangana High Court Advocates Association organised a cake cutting function in the Association hall. Senior counsel Sarasani Satyam Reddy cut the cake in the presence of THCAA president Gandra Mohan Rao and AP High Court Advocates Association president C. Nageswara Rao.
The THCCA later felicitated Mr Satyam Reddy along with advocates G. Jyothi Kiran, M. Vijay Kumar Goud and Gopireddy Chandrasekhar Reddy. Meanwhile, minorities in the city celebrated the T-Formation Day with prayers for the wellbeing of the state.
Christians, Muslims and Sikhs residing in Hyderabad took part in special prayers at the Macca Masjid, CSI compound in Secunderabad and the gurudwara in Ameerpet. Moulana Rizwan Qureshi, imam of the Macca Masjid, while leading special prayers, prayed for bountiful rains in the coming monsoon. Blood donation camps were also organised.
