Hyderabad: A City Court on Friday dismissed the bail pleas of the three individuals accused in the Miyapur land scam – Kukatpally Sub-Registrar Rachakonda Srinivas, P. Sanjeeva Parthasarathi, and P.V.S. Sharma.
The police filed a petition seeking custody of the Balanagar sub-registrar Mohammed Yousuf, Mohammed Mubrajuddin Khan, and Advocate Dasari Krishna Reddy; but the Court reserved its order after hearing arguments.
Meanwhile, the police said that they had seized key documents related to the companies operated by the accused and by family members of P.S. Prasad.
Cops from the L.B. Nagar police station arrested Agiru Buchi Babu, an associate of the former L.B. Nagar sub-registrar T.V. Ramesh Chander Reddy, and Gokaraju Subba Raju, the chairman and managing director of the South India Research Institute.
Cyberabad Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya said that key documents had been recovered from the accused and from the registrar of Companies (ROC).
“In one of the documents, it has been found that the sale deed was signed in 1992. It has yet to be verified whether this decision was recorded in the minutes of the board meeting,” he said. Any decision pertaining to a company must be approved by its board.
In its petition, the police department said that Mr Yousuf, the prime accused in the case registered at Balanagar police station, had received clear instructions from the deputy collector to disallow any transactions pertaining to the government lands.
It said that he had despite these orders, Mr Yousuf had conspired with the other accused and allowed the registration of the lands.
The police said that the accused possessed electronic devices which were hidden and password protected.
It sought the court’s help to unlock the devices and retrieve the data and documents related to the registration of the land so that it could be used for further investigation.
The police said that it had not encountered any suspicious material during searches of the houses of the accused, but they were in possession of bank lockers which would contain more details.
The L.B. Nagar police said that Buchi Babu had conspired with the other accused, and documented a commercial area near NH 9 as a residential area, and reduced its market value from Rs 35,000 to Rs 13,000, thus causing the government a loss of Rs 71,29,320.
