Notice to Telangana for regularising employees

Despite the assurance, several employees in agriculture, veterinary and electrical departments were regularised by the state government.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday issued notices to the TS government authorities asking them explain as to why the action should not being taken against them under the Contempt of Courts Act for regularising contract employees in violation of the court order.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganthan and Justice P Naveen Rao was dealing with B. Sanjeev and others, seeking punish the authorities responsible for violation of the court orders.

Sarasani Satyam Reddy, senior counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the state government had on July 1, 2016 assured the court that it will not regularise the contract employees. 

Despite the assurance, several employees in agriculture, veterinary and electrical departments were regularised by the state government.

While issuing the notices, the bench granted four weeks to the respondents to file response.
