Anantapur: The TD’s experiment to end the Rayalaseema faction culture by uniting rival groups in the constituencies is not working out, even though the high command has been pointing out lapses and loss in the upcoming polls if any group quits the party at the peak period.

This is the first time that the TD leadership has opted for compromise policies between hardcore faction rivals.

In Jammalamadugu Assembly constituency, former minister P. Ramasubba Reddy is unable to adjust with his rival C. Adinarayana Reddy, minister and MLA from Jammalamadugu.

Mr Adinarayana Reddy had defected from the YSRC to the TD few months ago and recently got an opportunity in the cabinet. But Ramasubba Reddy, the party in-charge, could not get any place in nominated posts.

Ramasubba Reddy, who had served imprisonment in connection with a double murder case during the Congress regime, tasted defeat against YSRC candidate Adinarayana Reddy in the last polls.

However, Mr Adinarayana Reddy defected to the TD as part of high command strategy to improve party status in Kadapa district.

Even as Mr Ramasubba Reddy was no interested in the joining of his rival, he had to keep silence after the high command decided to invite Mr. Adinarayana Reddy to develop party for coming polls.

Recently, Ramasubba Reddy group had also expressed protest by throwing chairs at C.M. Ramesh demanding justice for their leader.

There is no instance of both leaders having taken part in any party programme together in the segment so far, sources said. The former minister had also not participated in the recent Mahanadu and organised meeting with his group men. A similar situation prevails in Nandyal.
