Warangal: As part of the World Environment Week, birdwatchers on Sunday had some good news to share as they spotted new species visiting the Pakhal Biodiversity Park.
The ‘Pakhal Bird Walk’, which was orgainsed by the Warangal Rural district forest department, saw participation from the Hyderabad birding pals and the Orugallu Wildlife Society (OWLS).
Lead by Hyderabad birding pals’ Sriram Reddy, the team sighted new birds like the Indian Pitta, White Rumped Shama, Rocket tailed Drongo, Jungle owlets, Barn Owls, Brown Fish Owl, painted storks, paradise fly catcher among others.
Mr Reddy also previously spotted the ‘Dusky Eagle Owl’. “The local youth working for the eco tourism must be trained as guides and frequently holding such bird festivals lead to wildlife conservation, education and inspiration for many nature lovers,” he said.
