Hyderabad: Reactor blast at Nacharam GVK Bio claims life
The fire department was informed and it rushed to the site as a precaution.
Hyderabad: One person was killed in a reactor blast at GVK BioSciences Pvt Ltd at IDA Nacharam on Tuesday evening.
It is suspected that the build-up of extra pressure led to the blast.
The incident took place in Block A at the GVK Bio unit at around 5.40 pm where about 10 persons were working. On receiving an alert, a police team rushed to the spot.
The fire department was informed and it rushed to the site as a precaution.
T. Naveen, 22, a resident of Mallapur and native of Guntur district, who was working at the site was found missing.
His body was found later. The other staff were found safe. A few suffered minor injuries.
Nacharam inspector M. Mahesh said, “Prima facie, we understand that the explosion took place in a reactor due to the building up of pressure.”
