Hyderabad: Water polluted, no action taken
For the past several days contaminated water is being supplied to the Nampally area.
Hyderabad: Residents of Red Hills and Nampally have complained of water supply being contaminated with sewage, and alleged that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board is not acting on their complaints.
For the past several days contaminated water is being supplied to the Nampally area, and locals say they are receiving sewerage through drinking water pipeline to their houses.
Syed Sajjad Ali of Nampally Goods Shed area said the contaminated water is being supplied for the last one month and officials have not bothered to act.
“Our children are suffering from various ailments. We are forced to purchase water for drinking purposes as our doctor has advised us to avoid using tap water for drinking and cooking until the problem is solved,” Mr Ali says.
He added that residents have noticed a foul smell from the water and it has turned yellowish.
A resident of Red Hills, Mr Baba, said, “We think that a water pipeline in the area is leaking, but Board workers are not able to identify the exact location of the leak.”
