Hyderabad High Court clears way for Telangana to fill school posts
The bench made it clear that the contentions raised by the petitioners will be considered during the final hearing.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on paved way for the TS government to fill teaching and non-teaching posts in social, BC, ST and minority residential schools of the welfare departments of the state with only women by vacating the stay on operation of GO 1274 that reserved all the posts teaching and non-teaching for women.
A division bench comprising of Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy and Justice G. Shyam Prasad granted the interim order while hearing an appeal by the state government challenging an order of single judge suspending operation of the GO.
Mr. Sarasani Satyam Reddy, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, submitted that the GO reserved all teaching and non teaching posts for women in schools run under Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society, BC Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Soci-ety, Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society and State Minority Welfare Residential Educati-onal Institutions Society in the state.
When Mr Reddy was about to advance his pleading opposing the vacation of interim order, the bench said that they passed an order on Tuesday with regard to recruitment of woman lecturers in government residential degree colleges for women by vacating the stay on recruitment and they will pass similar order in this case also as the prima facie balance of convenience is in favour of the appellants.
The bench made it clear that the contentions raised by the petitioners will be considered during the final hearing.
It also mentioned that any recruitment pursuant to the GO would be subjected to the final out come of the present petition.
The bench granted Mr Reddy liberty to make mention if he found something contrary in this case from the side of appellants.
