Telangana: 395 colleges yet to get inter board nod

The board has advised students and the parents to take admissions only in the affiliated colleges in the state.

Hyderabad: Among 1,600 private junior colleges that had applied for affiliations, only 1,205 junior colleges have got affiliations till date for the current academic year 2017-18. The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) is yet to decide on 395 colleges, as they failed to produce necessary certificates online.

According to the TSBIE, private junior colleges, which have not fulfilled basic norms related to fire safety, sanitation, infrastructure and have not submitted relevant documents, failed to get affiliation. 

It has postponed the last date for admissions and affiliations to Aug. 10, while the Telangana Private Junior Colleges Association is demanding affiliations for the remaining colleges.

The board has advised students and the parents  to take admissions only in the affiliated colleges in the state. Board secretary A. Ashok said after a few incidents in previous years, the board has become stricter while giving affiliations.
