Bengaluru\'s recovery rate just above half the national average
In the past few days, the recovery rate of Karnataka has been below 40 per cent and Bengaluru was within 30 per cent
While the overall recovery rate of Karnataka is witnessing a slight improvement with 42.82 percent, the case of Bengaluru continues to be at 35.16 percent. It should be noted that of the average 5,000 fresh Corona positive cases getting recorded everyday in Karnataka, the capital city Bengaluru continues to be a major contributor with an average of 2,000 fresh cases.
In the past few days, the recovery rate of Karnataka has been below 40 per cent and Bengaluru was within 30 per cent. The national recovery rate is over 65 per cent and Bengaluru is way behind the half way.
The recovery rate witnessed a slight rise as a whopping 4,077 patients were discharged on Sunday and 3,860 heading back to their homes on Saturday.
Last week the discharges were less than 3,000. As per the health bulletin released by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Karnataka recorded 5,532 cases, a major push from Bengaluru with 2,105 cases.
Of the thirty districts in the state, only 15 had reported less than 100 fresh cases.
Eighty four new deaths were reported since Saturday evening taking the total death tally to 2,496. The total cases in the state is quickly progressing towards the 1.5 lakh mark and stands at 1,34,819. The active case load stands at 74,590. There were 638 patients in the Intensive Care Units across the state.
Medical education minister Dr Sudhakar took to social media platform Twitter to update citizens on Karnataka's position and posted thus: "Karnataka conducted 33,017 tests in a single day today. So far, we conducted 14,18,569 tests across 94 labs in the state. 5,532 Covid positive cases have been reported in the state today and 4,077 recoveries. 2,105 new cases reported in Bengaluru & 2,331 recoveries."
