Covid cases in TS cross 1,000 mark
A total of 1,054 new cases were reported on Tuesday, compared to 771 on Monday
HYDERABAD: The number of daily Covid cases in the state crossed the 1,000 mark for the first time since the third wave on Tuesday, showing a huge 36.7 per cent increase from Monday. A total of 1,054 new cases were reported on Tuesday, compared to 771 on Monday, as per the Covid bulletin issued by the health department.
However, the rise in cases corresponded with an increase in testing from 39,320 samples on Monday to 44,202 on Tuesday. The number of active cases marginally increased from 5,733 to 5,992, while the number of recoveries rose from 581 to 795. The rise in new cases was partly driven by Hyderabad where those affected by the Coronavirus rose from 289 on Monday to 396 on Tuesday.
Hyderabad was followed by the urban majority districts of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Ranga Reddy, both of which reported 60 cases, Nalgonda 49 cases and Karimnagar 46. As on Tuesday, a total of 253 beds were occupied by Covid patients, which included 100 regular beds, 115 oxygen beds. and 38 ICU beds
