Vijayawada: Chirala II Town police of Bapatla district traced a girl within an hour of her father reporting that she had gone missing.

Kaki Vinod Kumar of Novahupeta in Chirala mandal called 112 around 7 p.m. on Wednesday complaining that his five-year-old daughter Vishita Ruth has gone missing.

Chirala II Town inspector G. Somashekhar, who received the call, reported the matter to Bapatla district SP Vakul Jindal and Chirala DSP S. Prasada Rao. As per their instructions, all personnel of Chirala Two Town police divided themselves into two teams. One team checked CCTV cameras and the other vehicles.

Police found Vishita Ruth in an auto-rickshaw. Daniel told police that he had stopped the auto when the girl was crossing the road unaccompanied. He then decided to drop her near her house.

Inspector Somasekhar called the kid's parents to the police station and handed her over to them. The parents thanked police for quickly tracing her.

SP Vakul Jindal advised parents to keep a constant watch on their children no matter how busy they are. However, if they find them missing, they should immediately call 100, 112 or SP Bapatla’s helpline number 8333813228 for help.
